Meet Meredith Anne. As a health coach, she’s “kicking ass one kale chip at a time!” Meredith is so full of passion and has a great story about how she became a health coach. And after meeting her a couple of times and working together, I asked her if I could feature her on my blog. I knew she was a great fit when her favorite quote was the same as mine! Keep reading for her great answers to the questions I posed.
What defines “Real Beauty” for you?
Real beauty = Vulnerability. It means being secure and vibrant in your own skin and expressing your unique beauty in everything you do. Whether it is pairing cowboy boots with a Led Zeppelin t-shirt, laughing out loud at a quiet coffee shop or loving so freely you get your heart broken. Real beauty in my life means finding humor in the little things, growing every single day (even when the lessons are painful), checking my ego at the door, wearing yoga pants anywhere I can get away with it and taking the path of most resistance by following my dreams to heal people with food.
What makes you “beautiful”?
My confidence. My big brown eyes. My nurturing tendencies. My yoga booty. My passions. My purpose. My drive. My selflessness. My goofy moments. My imperfections.
What do you “think” your flaws are?
My inability to set boundaries. My ego (sneaks up on me every once in a while). My fear of failure. My bipolar relationship with body image. My numbing of feelings.
What do people love about you?
My genuineness. My smile. My big heart. My laugh. My positivity. My listening skills. My cooking. My sense of humor. My relateability. My candidness. My butt (direct from the mouth of my husband).
How do you PLAY? What brings you joy?
Waking up early before the sun rises and while the energy of the world is still calm and reading in bed. Stand up paddle boarding with my husband. Long peaceful walks with my dog, Sampson. Concocting in the kitchen. Coffee shop dates. Traveling the world. Late night family card games (where drama is sure to follow). My regular yoga practice. Taming my tiny herb garden. Exploring new and exciting foods.
Anything else you’d like to share?
Trust Your Gut! Every major decision I have made (a break-up, quitting my job, moving across the country, starting a business, marrying my best friend, rescuing a dog and putting an offer on a house) has been driven by my gut and it hasn’t led me astray thus far. Our bodies are these amazing, energetic, intuitive vessels that hold all the answers BUT we have to learn how to listen. Gut feelings may indicate a previous lesson learned, hidden from our conscious mind, but available in the memory bank of our gut then transmitted to the intuitive brain. So shove aside your chattering mind and emotional baggage and tap into this amazing source of wisdom because life is too short not to grow, share, express and love every day.
“I’ll leave you with my favorite quote that seems fitting for Real Women Wednesdays: “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” -Marianne Williamson”
