Meet Mary Ann! She is not only beautiful on the outside, her true beauty shines so bright because she is one of the kindest, sweetest people and has such integrity and grace. She is honest and diplomatic and has a great laugh and a beautiful smile. She gives back to the community and helps Charleston’s Work Force Hero’s. (More details at the end of this article.)
Here’s what Mary Ann has to say…
What defines “Real Beauty” for you?
MA: I think real beauty is when what’s on the inside shines on the outside. Beauty is being kind to and considerate of others, saying please and thank you, having a positive and cooperative attitude, taking interest in people, laughing and smiling. This inner beauty will come through on the outside and attract people to you.
What do you find beautiful about yourself?
MA: I find those inner things I mentioned above beautiful about myself. I also enjoy the little and simple things in life, which make life more beautiful.
What brings you joy? How do you play?
MA: I love hair, make up and clothes. I don’t necessarily buy a lot of these things, but I sure love to look in stores, catalogs, magazines and online. Looking at these fun things makes me stress free. I also consider these things an art form.
My favorite places to shop are the old-fashioned “Main Street” type shopping districts, like King Street. Every time I shop on King Street, I feel like I’m on vacation. I like the mix of shopping, people watching, stopping in a coffee shop and having lunch.
I also have a passion for consignment store shopping. I regularly visit the local consignment stores, and I know some of the owners and sales people well. It’s a more personal shopping experience than retail shopping, and it’s like a treasure hunt to find key pieces. I have gotten the most compliments on consignment purchases.
Another passion is music. I recently found a good music app, and I’m building my music collection and listening to it on my phone a lot. Music means a lot to me, and it de-stresses me and elevates my mood.
She offers a Work Force Hero Discount to law enforcement, firefighters, public services, teachers, healthcare/medical workers and military (active, reserves, retired). This is her way of giving back to our local heroes who provide extraordinary services to our community every day. When she represents a “workforce hero” to buy and/or sell real estate, she gives them back 25% of her commission at closing, which can be thousands of dollars.
