Following my blog post about getting “a round tuit”, I figured it might be time for me to create those posts of portrait sessions I’ve been meaning to get around to. I think I might be a year behind. So I thought I’d start with an oldie but goodie that I began a draft of about a year ago…
We had such a great time with this family. The Meads Family was visiting Charleston, SC for the THIRD time. They love our fair city and wanted their family portraits made in and around Charleston to showcase not only their newly growing family, but also all the wonderful and charming things about our town that keep them coming back year after year.
We started our photography session on Chalmers Street, that street most of the locals avoid because of the pesky cobblestone. But as locals we don’t always appreciate some of the quaint qualities of our city that drew us to Charleston, or that keep us from moving away. Of course that cobblestone gave our beginner walker a little more than she bargained for!
We meandered through the streets and back alleys and ended our family portrait session up on Church Street in front of the beautiful wrought iron gates by the famous Phillip Simmons. And after being dragged all around the city, our little young lady stood up, threw up her hands and with the cutest grin began to give me a serious talkin’ to. Of course, I’m not sure any of us understood what she was talking about, but she babbled with authority! In between fits of laughter, I managed to capture this sweet photograph shown above!
We were able to captured some really great images of this family that now hang as large wall portraits on the walls of their home. Beautiful memories combined with art decor for your home. How much is that worth to you? To your children? A lifetime of joy is priceless!
